* You will need to snap out the thumbnail sized SIM card along the perforated edge of its holder and then insert the SIM card into your international mobile phone with the gold contacts of the SIM card facing the metal contacts of your mobile phone.
^ Your Turkey SIM card requires a 4-digit PIN code. The PUK is only required to unblock your phone if you enter in a PIN code incorrectly 3 times. Follow your cell phone manual instructions to correctly use the PUK to unblock your phone.
How to make a call
To make an international call from your Turkey mobile phone dial 00 (or +), followed by the country code (1 for the US), area code and phone number.
How family and friends call you
Family and friends need to dial the international prefix, the country code 1 and your mobile phone number.
For example, when calling from the United States, callers need to dial 011 90 and then your mobile phone number.
To add credit to your Turkey SIM card, you will need to purchase recharge vouchers, also called Bataria recharge cards. You will find these vouchers at most tabac shops, convenience stores, PTT branches and Yaysat dealers in Turkey. They may be purchased in 6 denominations: 100, 150, 150, 500, 750 and 1000 counters.
To recharge your account:
Do not purchase another Turkey SIM card when your credit is depleted! You only need a recharge voucher!
Customer service for your Turkey SIM card is available 24/7 by dialing 555 from your Turkey mobile phone or 444 1 555 from a Turkey landline.
The Turkey prepaid SIM card will expire 12 months after being recharged with a Bataria card. Every time you recharge your SIM card, any previous credit carries over for an additional 12 months. When your account balance reaches $0 (zero) you have 12 months to recharge to keep your account active. During this time period you can continue to receive incoming calls.
